from the Assistant Principal, Michael Smart
This year all of our students from Years 7 to 11 will move up and commence their 2017 program of studies.
The upgrade program will see all of our students commence new subjects. Although students may not have their textbooks, teachers will provide meaningful learning experiences in keeping with the course outline for each subject. Students will require common stationery items – folders, exercise books, pens, and so on. Where text material may be required teachers will photocopy the small amount needed for the two weeks of upgrade, and what may be needed for summer homework for the more senior levels.
It is expected that all of our current Year 7 to 11 students will attend the upgrade program as they will be normal school days, and are part of the normal attendance days. The upgrade program is part of the 2017 school year, and the use of time at the end of the year will become a common part of school life from here on. Work completed during the upgrade program will be part of the assessment for the subject. Students that miss the upgrade program will start 2017 well behind their classmates and may be required to use time at lunchtime and home to catch up.
