As part of our Senior VCAL Personal Development unit we must make links with our community, so we decided to run an event as part of the Cobden Spring Festival. After much
discussion with Mrs. Hickey we knew we wanted a different event that hadn’t been run before; and something that involved school students. Colour Blast was the answer. After weeks of planning we were ready with banners, coloured powder, registration forms and things to set up on the course. We met on Sunday morning at 10am and set up obstacles on our 1.6m track that would slow the participants down and the colour would fly! We started at 1pm and finished at 2.30pm.

VCAL students, Emmally, Skye, Jacob and myself ran the activities with the help from Bec, Lachie, Zac, Grace, Ash and Matt. Thanks to ex-student Megan Finlayson, Neal Simmonds and Belinda Savage, who all helped out too. We had about 100 kids and some parents complete the course and we raised $565 for drought affected farmers in NSW. A very successful day, great fun for all and we thank everyone who came along and supported us.
