A total of 19 students recently competed at the Colac Gun Club Shoot. Dylan Light with a total of 15/20 was our best Senior Boy. Jack Henry and Jasper Coverdale both shot 11/20 clays. It was great to see our Senior Girl - Chelsea Ketelaar in only her second school shoot with a score of 12/20. Clay Target Shooting has different disciplines to try which include: Trap, Skeet, ISSF and Sporting Clays. Each discipline varies in its approach and delivery of targets to give a choice and different experience with Clay Target Shooting. Don't know what any of these things mean? Interested in becoming part of our school's clay target team? Speak to Mrs Belinda Savage, our sports coordinator.
Congratulatiions to all our shooters on a great day:-

Thank you to Mr. Nixon for his expert Lawn Bowls knowledge and Taxi driver skills in assisting the Lawn Bowls Team of Brad Campbell, Jack Hookway and Thomas Molloy at Ararat recently. The boys all played well, but were beaten 13 – 10 in a very close game. We would love some more students to take up this excellent sport. Health professionals recommend playing bowls as it provides a number of health benefits, including: improved fitness, improved coordination and skill development, increased confidence and self-esteem,enhanced mental wellbeing, community connectedness and support.

A big congratulation to Tara Anderson on qualifying for the State Championship Horse Trials at Bacchus Marsh. Tara not only qualified on one horse, but qualified two horses, one in Grade 1 and one in Grade 2 – Well done firstly on this achievement.
However at the Championships on the weekend, Tara had an unfortunate dismount from her horse as she jumped an obstacle, which resulted in a ride in an Ambulance to the Hospital. The very good news is that both Tara and her horse did not suffer any serious injuries.
