Year 7

Year 7 students will be introduced to the many wonders of electricity by undertaking the following areas of study:

  • Occupational Health and Safety in the workshop.
    Use of a soldering iron to solder electronic components.
    Basic electrical circuits.
    Basic design concepts.
    Basic Electronics.

Students will have been given enough training and theory to design and build electronic models to consolidate their knowledge. They will become proficient in the use of tools, test equipment and components associated with electricity.

Year 8

Year 8 students will further their knowledge of electricity by undertaking the following areas of study:

  • Occupational Health and Safety in the workshop.
    Series, parallel and series/parallel circuits.
    Soldering techniques.
    Technological concepts.
    Test equipment — ammeter and voltmeter.

Students will have been given enough training and theory to design and build a Skeet Shoot Game as well as an electronic dice. They will become more proficient in the use of tools, test equipment and components associated with electricity.
